Projects
Some things take more than one conversation: a kitchen renovation, a trip, a wedding, the app you build at weekends. A project gives each one a home. Carae keeps the plan, the notes and the decisions together, and picks up exactly where you left off.
Start one and come back to it
Install Projects from the skills catalogue (it needs no connected apps), then just say it:
- "Start a project called Kitchen renovation: new units and a tiled floor by March."
- "Work on the kitchen renovation." Carae opens it and tells you where things stand.
- "Show my projects." A list you can tap.
While a project is open, Carae has its brief, its documents and its latest progress in mind, so you never brief it twice. Say "close the project" when you are done for the day.
Documents and the journal
Each project holds up to eight documents: plans, budgets, shortlists, notes, anything you would otherwise keep in a folder. Ask in plain words: "Save a budget: units 4,200, tiles 900." or "Send me the plan as a file." Each document holds about twelve pages of text, and when Carae rewrites one it keeps the last five versions, so "bring back the earlier version" always works.
One of the eight is the journal, and Carae writes it, not you: a dated line whenever a decision is made or real progress happens. Weeks later, "what did we decide about the tiles?" has an answer.
With a project open, send a PDF, a document or a photo and Carae offers to save it there. A long document can go in parts or as a summary; a photo is saved as a written description, not the picture itself.
To-dos, reminders and a weekly round-up
A project can have its own to-do list and its own reminders: "Add order the tiles to the project list", "Remind me on Friday to call the plasterer." If your morning brief is on, Monday's edition includes what moved in each project over the past week.
For builders: link a repository
Working on software? Link a project to one GitHub repository and one Supabase project, from chat or from the project's page. With that project open, Carae's GitHub, Supabase and Cursor tools work on those without asking which one you mean. You connect those apps first, like any integration.
Your projects on the dashboard
The Projects page shows every project: read and edit documents, look back through versions, rename, archive or delete. Archiving frees a slot and keeps everything; deleting is permanent and always asks you first.
How many projects you can keep depends on your plan: one on the trial, three on Companion, eight on Pro. Project documents are encrypted, with a separate key for each person, included when you export your data and erased with your account.
